A 1966 Letter from Roberta Bernstein
to Kurt about Andy Warhol
In 1966, Kurt received a chatty and admiring letter and some photographs from his friend Roberta Bernstein, then a young and aspiring professor and art historian who later achieved success as both at the University of Albany in New York. In her letter, she expresses her appreciation of and affection for Kurt, tells him of her visit to Warhol's Factory and provides some snapshots of herself and her friends with Andy Warhol. "Is Andy there yet - he told us he was staying with you or somewhere arranged by you. Please say hello to Andy," she writes. She also compliments Kurt's article in Art International about Andy Warhol and his "scene."
