Pages from The Notebooks of von Meier
This first page is associated with Kurt's plans for an art criticism class, and ideas for some exercises that he planned to include. One can also see references to ideas and materials that appeared in Kurt's teaching repeatedly: Segre's Figure, the Diamond Sutra, I Ching, Enneagram, Mandala, and Tarot.
This second page references current events, name the launch of a Japanese satellite developed to detect the smallest particles in space with which it came into contact. Kurt studied Japanese during an intensive course at Stanford, and had numerous reference books about Japanese characters, or Kanji. Accordingly, his notes expand upon the satellite's name and explicate its deeper meaning. Kurt saw the world in this way, not just the surface manifestations but the activity taking place below the surface.
